Hi Everyone...
Just started on the slow carb way of life yesterday... Clean Eating!
I just jumped in with both feet with no real plan of attack...So, any help would be great! I saw that a lot of you talked about The 4 Hour Body so I downloaded it to my iPhone and I'm going to start listening to it tonight.
I didn't even know that slow carb exsisted until I caught up with my niece and her boyfriend after not seeing them for about a year and her BF is down 96 pounds in 9 month on a slow carb diet. He is my inspiration for sure. I need to lose 75 pounds.
Any pointers for a newbie would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hey there and welcome..
I didn't really know anything about the slow-carb diet thing until I started reading from the 4HB. Tim Ferris has a funny way of writing, and his rules keep it pretty simple. Aside from that, he explains what he's found in his research to back up the claims he makes.
For me, it seems really sustainable... I'm never hungry, usually have more energy... my body feels better in general. Plus I've lost 13 pounds in two weeks! Not so bad!
Hopefully you enjoy the change and see some immediate results as well!

Welcome Chicklet! The best thing about this diet for me is that I'm really never hungry. Yes, I have cravings (for me, it's usually sweets) but I'm not actually *hungry*. So it's also teaching me to eat when I'm hungry, not just because I'm having a craving for something, and I think that's a bad habit I got into that I'm really glad to have stop.
I thought that not having white carbs - bread, pasta - would be really hard, but actually that part has been so easy for me. I think that's one part I'll take from this diet forever, to not eat those kinds of things anymore. I feel much more energetic, no "afternoon slump" eating the slow carb way.

1st week 4 pounds down, 2nd week another 2.5 down... Feel Great... Energy level Great!!
I have to say LOVE my Cheat Day.... So amazing!!! My cheats haven't been all that crazy... bagels with cream cheese, pizza, penne ala vodka, brownie sundae, etc. I try to make a list of what I want to get in on Saturday's so I make sure all the wants are covered!!!
