    i would say in, but maybe compare lean chicken breast's (what he recommends) nutritional value to the chicken sausage to compare fat, carbs protein ect.

    I just read through the slow-carb cookbook posted here, and sausage was in a couple recipes. As Tim recently said, this diet is about using yourself as an experiment. Probably some are quite capable of eating all manner of sausage and not gaining an ounce, while others...? I find myself reacting somewhat adversely to processed meats. And reading the labels, wow! soooo much corn syrup and sugar in those meats like kielbasa or even brats. I had to read ever label to find one that did not have sugar -- Nathan's all beef kielbasa-type. For brat-type w/o sugar, Boar's Head is great. As far as regular breakfast and/or Italian sausage at your local market.... gotta read the labels. Just because it has "turkey" doesn't mean the second ingredient isn't sugar or corn syrup.

    thanks guys and girls. Yeah I ate it....and it just didnt feel right. I think I will go back to my eggs spinach and black beans. Ugh week two

    When in doubt, make your own. That way you know exactly what's in it. Here's a simple recipe I found online.

    I think that if it's used sparingly--once in a while to give yourself a taste of something different, or mixed in with scrambled eggs, etc., that it shouldn't be too bad. But I certainly wouldn't use it on a regular basis.

    I've bought some chicken sausage recently because I had a coupon and I wanted something different for dinner besides regular old chicken breast or baked chicken and I'm not really into steak or a lot of red meat. But I see it as a sort of treat, not something I'd buy on a regular basis.
